Hurricane Ridge

I started my trip to Olympic National Park with the Hurricane Ridge. It was a gorgeous day with clear blue skies and temperatures around 70. I couldn't believe how lucky I'd been with the weather on this trip!

It was unusual seeing snow on the ground while walking around with my sleeves rolled up!

The alpine wildflowers were in full bloom and lit up the hillsides with color.

After I had hiked for a while and enjoyed the views, I headed west to Lake Crescent and the Hoh Rain Forest. Pics coming soon!

Seattle and Bainbridge Island

I recently got back from my first trip to the Pacific Northwest and it was awesome.

First I flew into Seattle and got on the ferry to Bainbridge Island.

View of Seattle from ferry.

If you look closely, you can see a small speck in the top of the picture- the speck is actually two of the Blue Angels. The jets were practicing for a big air show over the weekend, and flew over the ferry several times.

Heading toward Bainbridge- my first glimpse of the mountains.

I spent a few days in Bainbridge with a friend and had a wonderful and relaxing time. It was the perfect atmosphere to chill out, with great companionship, amazing food and surprisingly warm and sunny weather.

The Steller's jays would come and investigate us each morning as we had breakfast on the patio.

After Bainbridge Island, my next stop was Olympic National Park. Stay tuned!
